SAY I CANN

  • Why has cybersquatting grown by over 200% over the past 12 months?
  • Why are there over 800 accredited registrars but you can name only a handful?  What do all the others do?
  • Why are registrars not accountable for the trademark-infringing domains that they profit from?
  • Why is ICANN encouraging entrepreneurs to step forward and help launch new TLDs even though Internet users have largely ignored each new TLD launched in recent years? 900 more are proposed to be deployed over the next three years!
  • Why are some of the most aggressive cybersquatters registrars?  How is that allowed?
  • Why are domain names containing trademarks allowed to be sold on auction sites and then resold through registrars?
  • How can practices such as domain tasting and domain front running be allowed to exist and the proposed solutions be so marginal?
  • Why does all of this happen in the face of a basic sense of right and wrong?

The answer to most of these questions lies with ICANN. Registrars and registries make up ICANN's largest voting block, accounting for over 40% of votes. Domain industry insiders are calling the shots.

Why would those who make money off of domain name registrations want anything but polices that ensure the growth of their businesses and increase their profits?

This must stop.  You can help.  SAY I CANN.

Join your fellow brand owners and get involved in ICANN – with your help we can create new policy and once again make the Internet safe and beneficial for the ENTIRE Internet population – most importantly Internet users.

Although several CADNA members have stepped forward recently to join ICANN's Business Constituency and help reshape the debates, CADNA membership is not a prerequisite to joining this effort.

The brand owners of CADNA recognize that realizing the goal of cleaning up the Internet requires all of our involvement.
